Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data NameAlert ("we", "us") collects when you use our domain discovery and monitoring service, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. If you have any questions, contact us at namealert@protonmail.com.

1. Information we collect

  • Account data: your email address, and your name if you provide it or sign in with Google.
  • Brand and keyword data: the business descriptions you enter and the domain keywords generated from or added by you.
  • Activity data: your watchlist, alert preferences, credit balance and purchase history, and basic logs of features you use (such as keyword generations).
  • Billing data: we receive a record that a payment was made and your subscription/credit status. Full payment card details are handled by our payment processor and never reach our servers.
  • Technical data: standard information your browser sends (such as IP address and device/browser type) and data needed to keep you signed in.

2. How we use your data

  • to provide the Service — create your account, generate keywords, and match auctions;
  • to send the notifications and account emails you have opted into;
  • to process payments and manage credits;
  • to secure, maintain, and improve the Service and prevent abuse;
  • to comply with legal obligations.

3. AI processing of your descriptions

To generate domain keyword ideas, the business description you enter is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) for processing. Please avoid including sensitive personal information in these descriptions. We do not use your data to train third-party AI models.

4. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run NameAlert, under appropriate safeguards:

  • Supabase — database, authentication and hosting;
  • Brevo — sending notification and account emails;
  • Anthropic — AI keyword generation (see section 3);
  • Google — if you choose to sign in with Google;
  • Our payment processor — to take payments securely.

We may also disclose data if required by law or to protect the rights, safety or property of NameAlert, our users, or others.

5. Emails and your choices

We send auction/watchlist notifications and account-related emails. You can turn notification emails on or off at any time from your account settings, and account emails are limited to what's necessary to run your account (such as sign-in codes).

6. Cookies, analytics and your choices

Essential storage. We use necessary browser storage and cookies to keep you signed in and to make the app work. These are required for the Service and cannot be switched off.

Analytics (with your consent). We use Matomo, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to understand how the site is used. Matomo is loaded only after you accept in our cookie banner, and not at all if you decline — no analytics cookies are set and no usage data is sent until you opt in. We do not use this data for advertising and do not sell it.

Changing your choice. You can accept or withdraw analytics consent at any time using the “Cookie preferences” link in the site footer, or by clearing this browser's storage.

7. Data retention

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal, tax, or security obligations. Auction data itself is not personal to you and is refreshed regularly.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email namealert@protonmail.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

EU/UK (GDPR). We process your data to provide the Service (performance of a contract), to secure and improve it (legitimate interests), and — for analytics — on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time via the cookie banner without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

California (CCPA/CPRA). You have the right to know, access, correct, and delete your personal information, and to opt out of its “sale” or “sharing.” We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. To make a request, email namealert@protonmail.com.

9. Security and international transfers

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including access controls and encryption in transit. Our providers may process data in countries other than yours; where they do, appropriate safeguards are applied. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children

NameAlert is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. Changes and contact

We may update this policy from time to time; material changes will be posted here with a new "last updated" date. For any privacy question or request, email us at namealert@protonmail.com.
